Tired of Online “Stuff?”
Particularly over the past couple of years, you may have gone through a “see-saw” of all manner of different events, emotions and ways of being. Human contact has gone from being something that nourishes us, allows us a sense of belonging and our natural way of being to something that can potentially threaten our health.
This has led many of us to explore ways to connect without being in actual physical contact or presence both in our personal and work life. Part of this has seen a plethora of online workshops arising which have supported our need to stay in contact, continue to learn and grow through these times. More than just a substitute for physical contact, online workshops have allowed us to attend events that we might not otherwise have been able to attend for several reasons:
- the teachers are in a location we might not have travelled to
- going online allows us to juggle childcare, work and other commitments
- the ability to just logon from the comfort of our home rather than go out and maybe battle through the elements, traffic and parking spaces
- for those of us who can feel daunted turning up at a new group and having to go into a room of strange faces, online can be a good way of dipping your toe in the water and getting to know people
As society starts to open up and regulations around physical contact are relaxed, it can be tempting to abandon online events and in doing so, we may be “ditching the baby out with the bathwater.”
Over the past couple of years, we have expanded running online events, whilst at the same time running physical events wherever regulations allowed. We have seen the benefits of both and how they can complement each other.
In-person events provide the ability for physical contact and connection and growing through our interactions, however it is also possible to be distracted by the people who are there and place your focus on them.
With online training, although you meet others virtually, it is the fact that you are physically separate that creates the space to explore more deeply about yourself (or relationship if you are doing it with a partner) without the distraction of others. This space of self-connection and self-awareness can be a very powerful and transformative experience. One where you can have a more centred space for your own journey, either as a stand-alone reflective space or to support or better prepare yourself before mixing with more people again, possibly at in-person events. You can bring your newfound sense of self to interact at a deeper, more profound and boundaried level than you did previously.
We are running an online training which is an immersive, experiential, journey designed to take a deeper dive into exploring yourself and how you relate to others, using the lens offered to us by Tantra. Tantra is a non-prescriptive path and in this journey you can go at the speed and depth that feels right for you. You can find out more about it here.
